Before becoming a photographer, Jo worked on the other side of the camera as a model and lived in Asia, where she developed her eye for color. Later, she channeled her creativity through jewelry and fashion design with her own brands in Europe.

She serves as a commercial photographer for fashion brands, creatives, and artists, undertaking commissioned portraits and family photojournalism.

These days, Jo's personal creative practice predominantly revolve around documentary photography and long term personal projects.The influence of her early life in small northern industrial towns remains evident, fueling her deep-seated passion for the transformative impact of photojournalism and its ability to act as a catalyst for inspiring social change.

In addition in more abstract projects Jo explores connection, freedom and spirituality ,fascinated by the concealed aspects of our inner world—fantasies, fixations, anger, trauma, and unspoken desires and explores these in various mediums and disciplines to craft a tapestry that resonates with the intricacies of the human experience.
